A Gloucester man believes he has captured an image of a ghostly figure, which is thought to be a dog, in one of the city’s most historic buildings. The figure of the dog and the creatures eyes in the picture were pointed out by a fellow ghost hunter, with the image sure to send chills down your spine.
Andy Bolton, 64, from has grown interested in the world of the paranormal over the past couple of years. He says he ‘would like to show the world’ the evidence he has of ghostly activity, and says encounters with the supernatural have spurred him on to keep searching for more evidence of other worldly beings.
Mr Bolton captured the image of the eerie dog figure when on a ghost hunt in Blackfriars in February this year. During the investigation, under the cover of darkness he took lots of pictures on his phone, hoping to capture paranormal activity, and he firmly believes he has.
He said: “I have always been interested in the paranormal and UFOs and such, however I have only started to go on ghost hunts for the past couple of years.
“I went on a ghost hunt in Blackfriars in Gloucester on February 3 through to February 4. I was in the south wing on the first floor Blackfriars, and I was there in the dark taking pictures thinking I may pick something up.
“Looking back at the pictures, I could see a big dark shadow. It was when I was having a coffee with a lady who I did the ghost hunt with, she pointed out the figure looked like a dog.
“I could see then what she meant. You can see its pointy ears and its eyes when you close in on the picture. I also managed to capture a clear picture of an orb while I was there as well.
“I also put three cat balls which light up when they are touched, on the window bay in the south wing. When I went to retrieve them, one was ten feet away from the window bay and it looked as if someone had picked it up and placed it on the floor.”
Mr Bolton has visited other haunted sites in the UK. He recently went on a ghost hunt in the notoriously haunted, former council house, in 30 East Drive in Pontefract.
He said: “I have been to The Ancient Ram Inn in Wotton-under-Edge to do an investigation and I did not pick up a lot when I was there.
“Another I went to was at 30 East Drive in Pontefract as is said to be one of the most haunted places in Europe.
“I left a camera running outside one of the bedrooms. I made sure the door was firmly shut and I left the area.
“When I came back and watched the footage back, you can see something has pulled the door open. It is good footage and I would like the world to see the evidence I have managed to get.”
Mr Bolton, had another encounter which he believes to be paranormal. He believes other worldly being had confirmed to him that ghosts do exist.
He said: “I was at the Folk Museum in Gloucester with a friend. We were having a coffee before the ghost hunt started. She asked me what it would take for me to believe ghosts do exist.
“I thought about it for a moment, and I said if something were to push me or the lights were to go out or something like that.
“A split second later the lights in the room went out.”
