Technical Overview: ‘Stonehenge’ Discovered on Mars?

‘Stonehenge’ Discovered on Mars? This year has seen an abundant amount of mysterious discoveries both here on Earth and in outer Space; from a Superhenge in Britain to countless geological formations of interest discovered across our tiny solar system. Recently, the internet has turned its attention to a peculiar grouping of rocks on the red planet which appear uncannily similar to the visible portions of the ever-famous Stonehenge back here on Earth. Mars anomaly hunters spotted what was subsequently dubbed as “Marshenge” in a photograph, estimated to have been taken by the HiRISE instrument on-board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter in the same grouping of photos listed on University...

NASA: Ocean Possibly Discovered Inside Saturn Moon Enceladus

NASA: Ocean Possibly Discovered Inside Saturn Moon Enceladus In a press release this Tuesday, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory discusses the high likelihood that there might be an ancient ocean lurking inside of Saturn’s Moon Enceladus. The finding, they said, “implies the fine spray of water vapor, icy particles and simple organic molecules Cassini has observed coming from fractures near the moon’s south pole is being fed by this vast liquid water reservoir.” What tipped off researchers to this notion was the observation that Enceladus has a very slight wobble. By their estimates, this would not be the kind of behavior observed...

Breaking: New Photos & 3D Map of ‘Bright Spot’ on Ceres

Bright Spot on Ceres Seen in High Resolution For First Time (NASA JPL) NASA just released striking new images depicting the Dwarf Planet Ceres’ ‘bright spots’ within the landmark dubbed “Occator Crater” this Wednesday. The super-high-resolution images (three times better than the last ones we received in June) give the world a 450 foot per pixel view of topographical features feeding both mystery and imagination. NASA’s Dawn Mission reveals that Occator’s rim is ‘almost vertical’ in some areas though we still don’t know the chemical composition of this bright spot on Ceres’ surface. Could it be a salt deposit? Ice?...

Did NASA Just Reveal New Faces on Mars?

At 15:45:01 UTC on August 17th (Mars Sol 1077), NASA’s Curiosity Rover captured super-high-resolution images of the surface of Mars, appearing to contain what might look like numerous faces. These photographs were then stitched together and uploaded to Gigapan, giving users a closer look at the rover’s panorama. This screenshot was released by a user last week, sighting what has been described on social media as a “massive alien grave site.” According to NASA, “Curiosity sends back raw images for current and prior Sols based on commands sent by the mission team. The rover uses orbiters to relay back a lot of its data,...
